Dubai Library integrates particular Saint-Gobain solutions
The lectern shaped Mohammed Bin Rashid Library on the Dubai Creek Bank opens its doors to the public today and we are so proud that high performing and sustainable solutions from 7 of our brands were chosen and used in this prestigious project.
Designed by Architectural Consultancy Group (ACG) and constructed by ASGC, the 7-story project features the latest technologies and best materials.
Saint-Gobain UAE supplied 6000 sqm of SageGlass® LightZone which makes up 72% of the project’s total glass elevation and is used in curtain wall of the main library reading areas, office and meeting rooms to boost comfort of the occupants in the library with precise control of daylight, glare and heat. It enhances interior colour rendering with its intelligent daylight management technology, while maintaining visual connection to the outdoors. The façade achieves better sound insulation, thereby increasing the cognitive ability to concentrate, avoid distraction and elevate the reading experience.
5500sqm of glazing solutions Cool-lite Xtreme 50-22 II from Saint-Gobain Glass International were also used in the library. It features an extremely selective solar control coating which enhanced the energy criteria requirements.
Our internal solutions were also supplied. All wall linings, partitions and ceilings including 60 mins Fire-Rated solutions from Gyproc were used ensuring safety and comfort of the visitors. Other Internal solutions included Plasters, flooring solutions and rush coats from Weber. Fire-Rated glass Contraflam Lite Stadip was used in the 500-seat theatre by Vetrotech as per the FLS requirement to ensure acoustic comfort in addition to fire performance.
KIMMCO-ISOVER supplied its HVAC and building insulation solutions as part of drylining systems for acoustic comfort.
UV blocking, dual reflective film known to be reflective on the outside to maximize heat rejection and neutral on the inside to maintain views by Solar Gard was installed on the project to reduce heat transmission.
The 54,000 square meter development recently inaugurated by H.H. Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, is located along beautiful Dubai Creek Banks in Al Jaddaf and is overlooking Dubai Creek Harbour.
